Redwood Kardon

Redwood is a retired electrician, certified combination building inspector, electrical inspector, technical advisor, author and instructor with over 40 years of experience in electrical construction. He was a building inspector for the City of Oakland for 13 years, an installation manager for Harmony Foods for 5, and has worked in all aspects of the electrical trade from bathroom remodels to chemical plants. For the past 25 years he has conducted highly acclaimed electrical training seminars across North America .

During his 13 years as a combination inspector for the city of Oakland, California, he created a clipboard "flip chart" of the most important building codes that he referenced while working on the job. In 1995 he enlisted his friend and master graphics artist, Paddy Morrissey, and they created “Woody's Fast Facts" which became the best-selling Code Check series of building inspection guide books.

In the intervening years since first publishing Code Check with Taunton Press, he has travelled throughout North America teaching the National Electrical Code, Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E) and led seminars based on Code Check. In addition, under contract with NTT (National Technology Transfer) and Praxis Corporation, he has conducted classes and electrical safety audits that included such illustrious institutions as: Nasa/Ames Research, the US Air Force, American Museum of Natural History and corporations such as State Farm Insurance, Conagra Brands Food Company, and Weyerhaeuser Paper to name just a few.
